MILPER‘s MRC-508, is a high performance, ruggedized computer chassis designed specifically for military tactical, airborne, Naval and strategic applications. The computer is based on a passive cPCI/VME – backplane with Single Board Computer. It is PC compatible in a lightweight, environmentally resistant package.

The standard MRC-508 features a drip proof keyboard, a Removable 66 Gbyte Flash disk and 2 Gbyte of RAM. Standard interfaces include two serial RS-232, one parallel and one xVGA. Six slots accept cPCI modules that are available for all cPCI compatible computers. This allows for the attachment of a range of compatible peripherals, accessories and interfaces. The MRC-508 can run MS-DOS, SCO UNIX, QNX, MS-WINDOWS or any other operating system designed for the PC.

The standard MRC-508 operates from 12/24VDC power source. With dimensions of only 7‘‘ high x 9.25‘‘ wide x 9.5‘‘ deep, the MRC-508 is ideally suited for outdoor field use. The MRC-508 can be fitted with a kit with slides to satisfy those applications requiring rack mount option, or with table top mounting kit for applications requiring to survive tougher environments.

PERFORMANCE UPGRADEABILITY

The MRC-508 passive Backplane allows an easy replacement of the CPU board to the state of the art processor board operating at the highest clock rate.
